Fantastic Letterbox Container!

From: C&K (pedersenteevens@cablespeed.com) | Date: 2005-09-16 11:40:20 UTC-04:00
Hello All --

I have found what might be the best letterbox container! (I'm so
excited, LOL!)

I've been keeping my eyes out for months for a good, solid container...
something with a secure lid and all that good stuff; you know. Well, I
just picked up something called "Snapware" at my local Kroger. They
never carried this before. It's by a company called Komax and it's made
in Korea. I've put more details about it on my web page if you want to
take a look at it.

You'll need to scroll about a quarter of the way down the page to where
it says "UPDATE: Sept. 2005..." and follow the link there to see the
cool container.

http://cablespeed.com/~pedersenteevens/Letterboxing.html

What's exciting is the lid locks on with these side flaps, and it
claims to be 100% airtight and 100% watertight! Pretty cool, eh?

I was wondering if anyone else has used this, and if so... how well has
yours worked and how well has it held up?

Feel free to email me on list, or privately... either way I'd love to
get your feedback! Thanks!!

(PS... I've posted this to both the new boxers group and the main
group; so sorry to those of you who get this twice.)

We saw these at our local Piggly Wiggly this week and thought the same thing!

Penny, Penny:

Yes, I have seen this type of container on the trail. It looks much like
Lock-n-lock and like the containers I am using for my Dora series. I
can't say how durable they are yet. If someone has 1 year or better
experience with this one, I'd love to know how the winter treated the
container.

If anyone sees these at other stores, please post where you found them. It looks like a great box, but we don't have those stores in our area. (CT)

Thanks and Enjoy!

I think Piggly Wiggly is owned by Shop Rite Stores Inc, so you may check your local Shop Rite. (I used to live in Newtown, CT before moving back to Texas). Puddle Splasher

Here in NJ I have seen them under a different name (Lock n Lock) at
Target and Walmart. I have also heard that you can find them at
Korean grocery stores, if one of those happens to be handy for you.

Here is a review on the container. It talks about the
difficulty of finding them. The 23 piece set shown is
available through Target.com for 19.99

I bought my Lock-n-Lock at MEIJER. I think they might be in your area?
There is a very small size that sells for 99 cents, but I got a some a bit
bigger. I have one that holds 2 travellers and 3 regular-sized stamp
pads. I was always fumbling with my inkpads and baggies.

By the way, I purchased a really big rectangular one at Marsh Foods, about
$8 (why I bought it there is a mystery). It holds a bag of potato chips
(after some have been eaten). I don't throw out stale chips anymore: they
stay fresh for weeks.

Happy tuppie hunting,

For those of you in the NY or Northern PA area...Wegman's stores are
now carrying a complete line of Lock n Lock. I swear by these
containers and the best part about them (besides being air and water
tight because of the rim gasket) is that they are FAST and EASY to
close...meaning that even the most hurried boxer is good about closing
them.

My favorite container is the 1.8 cup 4" x 4" container. PERFECT. I also
use the bigger ones for hostels and geocaching. I have a complete array
for camping stuff as well.

Da Kool Kats have been using these or another very similar click and
lock box for several months now in the Sacramento area. I seem to
recall some posts about them on the Northern California list not too
long ago.

Very nice box, really, I mean it, thanks for sharing...but...that
stamp, it's beautiful! Curtsy, take a bow, you did a great job. I
would really enjoy adding that to my collection.
